Supplier onboarding checks an agent can run on its own

Know who you are paying: pull the registry record and the officers of a French company, then screen the company against the US and UN sanctions lists, in two tool calls.

The job

Know your business, or KYB, is the set of checks a company runs before it starts paying or selling to another one: the entity is registered and active, the people who run it are known, and neither appears on a sanctions list that applies to you.

Done by hand it means a registry website, a sanctions search and a spreadsheet to record what was checked and when. Done by an agent it is a short sequence of calls whose answers are already structured as the record.

Why an agent needs a tool for it

Procurement and finance agents meet new counterparties in the middle of other work: an invoice from an unknown supplier, a new customer signing up. enrich_company gives the registry record and the officers in one call, and screen_sanctions screens the name with the edition of each list recorded.

The sequence below costs two credits for the company. Screening each officer by name is one more credit per person.

Limits worth knowing

Registry coverage is France and the United Kingdom (Companies House) on the hosted service.
Sanctions coverage is the US OFAC lists and the UN Consolidated List, not EU or UK lists. A match is a reason for a human review, not a conclusion.
Beneficial ownership is not covered: officers are the people the registry names, which is not the same as the people who own the company.
